Re: winecups pruning

C. digitata grows for me over 5 feet tall with pale green leafless stems.
The wine cups bloom up and down the stems, and from a distance in the early
evening look like they are floating in air. People always ask about it. I
have it growing near the front of beds because it is so airy. It usually
doesn't need staking, but a strong storm can blow it over, and then it does
need to be staked.

friend gave me a start, but her's is much more of a bushy plant, mine flopps
over and just travels on..... She has much more shade than I do. Found that
when it travels over the rocks and into the pond it blooms like crasy on
stems just touching the water.... not sure why... just what is happening
here. It is one of the plants I was thinking of replacing.. just not working
for me here. May move it to the shadier area and see if that helps... been
there since 99.
