How can you hate the scent of lilies, especially the Orientals? I think
that is why most plant them. I can't have them here because they follow
many years of tiger lilies (L. lancifolium) and that finishes off the
Orientals. The Asiatics are OK but none are scented. One lily stem in a
glass bottle is all you need in the house. Occasionally in the winter, I buy
one or two or go to my niece's shop and see what is laying around outdated.
Every one has his own idea of what is smashing in the garden but clumps of
white Orientals are hard to beat.
