I have the plain old white (Platycodon) and a double blue. I find them very
drought tolerant and both are floppy. If you have colors you do not like,
replace them with something nice, thet are common in the garden centers. You
would need to take care of the floppiness in spring with some surrounding
bush or a cage if it is not to your liking. Or, you can plant them next to
something that has stonger stems. They do bloom late in the season so are
nice to have. Ours just flop around and when I have time I use a bamboo
stick and some cord. This does not look good if done after they are grown,
looked tied up in bunch so should be done early. I think I might be good to
mention that they emerge very late in the spring so should be marked if you
tend to forget where plants are located.
