Re: crambe

Thank you Linda!
The one I've seen locally is C. cordifoilia, which I've seen at 8 feet across and at least that high!
I may take a ride and see if the nursery still has the C. maritima and otherwise keep my eyes open for that and Tartarica!

I went to my daylily society meeting today and came home with a lobelia - a gift from a daylily friend! I am going to plant it in the dampest garden and hope like crazy.

I grow 3 Crambes, cordifolia, maritima, and tartarica. I guess cordifolia
is the big one; mine isn't big yet. Tartarica, when it's blooming, forms
a mound of little white flowers, no more than 3 ft. tall. Maritima (for
me, anyway) is smaller than tartarica. The leaves are thick, smooth,
gray-green and cabbage-like. I don't think mine has ever bloomed, now
that I think about it, but the plant itself isnt' very tall, a foot or so,
although the leaves are big.

Does any one grow crambe's - I have coveted the huge one for year, but
realize I don't have the space for it. Today, I saw one (C.
maritime) billed as a smaller species, but didn't give the final
size! Needless to say it stayed there!
