I've been through some of my books and can't find your plant references. I was unable to find a reference for L. gerndii (although I found L. X gerardii - assume a typo??):-)
I suspect the cross you're referring to is L. X gerardii 'Vedrariensis' . Note that 'Vedrariensis' is the cultivar not another species.
Other than that - I hope the plant is great! :-)
