And of course, we need to add horsetail to the list of things that RoundUp
doesn't kill (makes it look sickly, but not dead, in spite of multiple
applications...).
Having said this, I would say that you don't want to just till grasses in,
thinking that will kill them.... My experience says either RoundUp till
dead, or layers of wet newspaper covered with organic matter / mulch at
least 6 inches deep and wetted down- I've done it in the summer/fall and
then just planted into it the following spring - didn't bother tilling or
turning...
