Hi:
I just received the summer copy of Birdscope from the Cornell Lab of
Ornithology. It has an article on viburnums.
According to this article there is a new invasive pest, viburnum leaf
beetle, that is eating these plants. Poor fruit production and/or death of
the plant are the results.
Areas affected: New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Maine
Cornell researchers are sking people to contact www.hort.cornell.edu/blb/
for information. They want you to register and report the plant so they can
track its travels.
May I suggest those of you talking about something eating your plants check
out this url and see if you can help the researchers.
