Hello Cheryl, Try establishing a stand from seed. They will pretty much grow anyplace if they come up from seed as opposed to transplanting. I have cardinal growing in almost pure grave on the west side of my garden where it came up from seed on its own. I originally transplanted it to a moist area and it died out on me. Also do not forget to hold your mouth jut right, do your dance of assured success, then throw in a burnt sacrifice. Gene E. Bush
Gene, what is your recommended sacrifice?
In the daylily world, to increase the chances of a cross throwing a future Stout Medal winner, one offers burnt Stella D'Oro, preferably in bloom!
