Re: Mg presentation

He started a push a few years back to get people to report hours more
accurately. Many folks under reported out of modesty, not realizing what
those numbers really meant. Everything is tabulated that can be, like the
vast number of phone calls to which we respond. Gene, it does not work the
same throughout the state. There's always a board or two or three that
works out the budget. Currently one active member of one of the boards
bears a grudge against an extention agent and is holding up some of the
money. It's just so much politics. We (MGs) are an active group and many
individuals help out within their communities. Ditto for the other orgs at
this extension - 4H, Homemakers, etc. The extension agents work extensively
with farmers , nurseruies, etc, they are a tremendous resource. However,
the director retired a year or so ago and the county would not replace him.
One of our office people was cut from the last budget, but our Hort Ed found
some money in a fund to save her job. Our Hort Ed was even Indiana MG
Coordinator of the year this time around.

It's time for some letter writing, I've got to round up the addresses. Not
sure who I need to write to besides the newspaper.

Kitty
