Re: Mg presentation

Our illustrious leader at the extension office is very good at making a case by insisting on all of our hours being turned in on time. He really does a push with how much that all works out to in dollars and time that no one is paying dollars to see happen. We actually got a new part time position or two on the staff this year and last.
If he really believes you may be headed for trouble now is the time to head it off. Get vocal and prove the worth of the org in dollars.

Our MG chapter, group, whatever it's called may be heading for trouble. The
county doesn't seem to think extension services are worthwhile and is
beginning to hold back necessary funding to the extension service. Looks
like we're going to have to start a letter -writing campaign. the Hort Ed
fears 10 yrs from now there will be no program. MGs do a lot for the
community, we just aren't very loud about it.

Gene, I would love to be there but will think of you as I work in the
State
Fair MG garden. I enjoy this event so much. Just because it is the
fair
makes it fun but to talk garden at the fair makes it just terrific! The
gardens
are so full of people, young & old. We have a vine covered tunnel for
the
children, as well as a children's garden. Visitors tell us it is the
first
thing their children want to do when they arrive at the fair. They enter
a
garden shed which has a door open to the tunnel which extends in an arc
for
some
distance. Always lots of questions and ohhs & ahhs in regard to the
gardens.
