Thanks Paul and Barbara. Perennial sweetpeas they are, then.
Mine didn't climb either, but I do like them.
What is the "real" name for them?
Thanks,
Barb (southeastern PA, where it's nice and rainy!)

I've had perennial sweet peas for several years. All but one has those pale
pink flowers. the other is a pretty purple. They did spread a little in the
area they were originally planted alto they have turned up in other areas
several feet away. Not a problem as they are easily pulled up. Going to let some
spread like a ground cover and see what happens. My only complaint is they
don't climb their trellis on their own so I have to tie them up all the time.
Mine didn't do much the first year they were planted; mainly just survived.
Like most perennials they took a couple years to get going really well.
Best Wishes, Barbara.
