Joanie,
Best delphinium I have grown in my garden. Period. Begins blooming
sometime in June, will bloom into first part of December here if deadheaded.
I cut mine back twice, get first bloom and two flushes. Good clumper and no
staking. Also happens to be a native and very adaptable. Mine are in bloom
with fall blooming anemone... pink on blooming one side and double white on
the other. In the background is Limelight hydrangea, Fireworks goldenrod and
Tartan aster.
Transplants just fine any time far as I know... I mess with mine
when I find the time... not by the book.
