We planted a Cornus kousa 'National' this summer--the Chinese Kousa
Dogwood--and so far it looks very nice.  We had had problems with
establishing the Cornus florida type dogwoods here in east central
Illinois.  This might be a good smallish tree for the spot that John of
Iowa was asking about...
