     Gotta get my 2 cents worth in also. I have also
   benefited from Marge Talt's knowledge and I'm going
    to ask yet another question. In this thread, I believe
    she suggested to use Ferns with hosta as they liked
    the same conditions. I'm sure she meant shade but
    I was wondering about soil ph. I know ferns prefer an
    acid soil like azalea, rhodos, etc. etc. Is this also the
    hosta's soil of choice?
