Hello Mr. Adney - always so interesting to see variations within zones.
We, also zone 5, are on track for the wettest summer on record. One day
in June we had 10 inches of rain in 24 hours . . . . . .
It's also been unseasonably cool - my monarda is full of mildew, but most
everything else is doing okay. This particular August brought a
profusion of black-eyed susans (rudbeckia) as well as purple coneflowers
and lambs ears. My tiger lilies are just done blooming, as are my blue
flax and ox eye daisies. My delphiniums are fabulous, but short -lived
do to beating by rain.
I do so enjoy this list.
