Cheryl, depending on your soil & exposure, you may be able to grow
a lot more in your morning sun than you think! If you have good soil
some roses will even do quite well with morning sun only, especially the
single ones. Others that that do well here (usually zone 6) in part
shade include:
Rudbeckia 'Goldsturm'
Sedum 'Autumn Joy'
Pennisetum (grass)
Campanulas
Aquilegias
Chrysanthemum (I had some pink singles that bloomed in pots last year
with only morning sun)
Daylilies (esp. Hyperion)
Some Phlox (esp. blue/lavender shades)
Echinops
Amsonia
And of course, ferns, ligularia, hosta, other shade lovers
Enjoy!
