Rachel,
I am not a Dahlia Expert, but my border dahlias just began to bloom earlier
this week. My anemone flowering dahlias are just beginning to open as of this
morning and my large decorative dahlias are just not setting buds.
Dahlias take (pretty much) the summer to bloom. They are a late summer/fall
blooming plant. It also depends on when you planted them and if you had them
potted first and then moved to garden or straight to garden.
As I understand it, that you have to take it easy on the fertilizer or you
will get alot of leaves and little bloom.
