How about when your husband overseeds the lawn (with all of the best
intentions, of course) without covering up the garden beds? I've been
picking out grass for YEARS....one plant I just gave up on (coreopsis) as
the grass and the plant were competing so badly that the plant was
starting to loose...... ohh, what pleasure to dig out that plant and put it in
the compost bin and put in something new!! I've given up pulling it out of
my creeping phlox - whenever I do the yard trimming, I just trim the grass
growing up through the plant as well.... Needless to say, my husband
will NEVER do that again if he knows what's good for him!
