As far as I know, not even a stone or brick edging will keep out Bermuda
grass, that delightful/hateful southern grass that people have decided
they can't conquer so they accept as their lawns.

I use Ortho Grass-B-Gon on Bermuda when it manages to get ahead of me and
at the edges of beds. Supposed to kill weedy grasses without injuring
allot of ornamental plants. Read directions carefully to see if you can
overspray the plants you want to keep. I also use a piece of cardboard
taped into a tube to set down into the plants with grass inside to keep
spray off plants I am not sure if it will harm.

The label states the following plants will not be injured other than
temporary discoloration of leaves by light contact with spray:

Various trees

Ground cover and flowers--Ajuga, Several types of Ivy, Cinquefoil, Coleus,
Dichondra, Gazania, Geranium, Hypericum, Iris, Kinnikinnic, Lilyturf,
Marigold, Pachysandra, Vinca Minor, Petunia, Rose, Zinnia.

Low growing shrubs and ornamentals- Azalea, Barberry, Boxwood, Cotoneaster,
Crape Myrtle, Euonymus, Forsythia, Gardenia, Photinia, Pittosporium,
Privet, Pyracantha, Rhododendron, Spirea, Star Jasmine, Viburnum and Yew.
If spray contacts Juniper needles browning will occur so spray under and
around not on.

I also use roundup applied with a small foam paintbrush dipped into
solution then applied only to grass. Wipe on edge of container so won't
drip on plants accidentally.
