Re: grass#*!?+*

Grass-Be-Gone by Ortho, does a good job on grass in perennial beds,
without really harming most/all perennials. Make sure you follow the
directions closely. It will take 2-3 times to completely kill it (for this
month ;-)) but it works. You will probably need to ask the megamart
employee's to order it for you, It usually isn't on our local shelves, even
the places that carry Ortho products. I've only found it in small spray
bottles, ready to use. Think it was 4-9 bucks for a quart spray bottle.

Vantage (formerly Post) is the other chemical that kills grasses, but not
broad leaf plants. Again, follow the directions, and don't expect miracles
the first time out. You'll most likely need to go to a real Feed'N'Seed for
this product. The megamarts don't ever seem to carry it, or be able to get
it. (Or it may just be too much work.) It was $16 or $21 for a pint, but it
makes 10(?) gallons. (can you tell I don't have the bottle in front of me?)

Remember that Banana's, palms, and something else I can't remember right
now, (maybe bamboo?) are all biologically grasses. So are the pretty
ornamental grasses. ;-)
Keep in mind what plants your spraying. <VBG>

Hope this helps,
