I want to thank everyone who responded to my panicked plea about the
black walnut and my new flower beds. I feel much better now. :-)
I have decided to leave the plants in the beds and wait to see what will
happen, but am not going to plant my Casablanca lilies where I had
originally planned, since everything I read said they will die anywhere
near a black walnut.
I'm going to plant them near my bedroom window, which gives me 2
bonuses. One, I think (hope) it's far enough away from the tree, and
two, they smell wonderful. How nice to drift off to sleep with that
scent!
Thanks again! And for the web sites, too, they've been very helpful.
