RE: Slugs


We had tons of toads in Texas!  When I was a kid, my dad would buy clay
flower pots and chip away a portion of the rim, then sand it with a very
rough sandpaper to round and smooth it out.  We'd turn them upside down,
and place them where we knew the toads lived.  It was a winner!  He'd
soak the pots in the late evening during HOT HOT summers, so the houses
would stay nice and cool... Yeah, dad was very doting when it came to
his garden, and it's subsequent residents.

I have to laugh when I look at gardening mags/catalogs and see "toad
houses" for 10 - 15.00!  All of us kids would paint them to look like
little houses... <smirk>
