There are 2 types of hardy hibiscus Rose of Sharon, which is about 4 ft
high and has large white flowers with magenta centers or sometimes all
magenta. These look like the flowers on the hibiscus sold at most garden
stores. The other is Rose Mallow, a tree that can get 7 to 8 ft tall with
smaller flowers (similar to non hardy hibscus) usually pale purple or pale
pink. This variety opens in the day and curls shut in late afternoon. Hope
this helps.
