Mine (so far) would be......
Sunset's Western Garden book (my analog of your 'Southern Living' book)
"The Well-Tended Perennial Garden" by Tracy DiSabato-Aust
"Crockett's Victory Garden" (aimed at vegetable gardens, and you have to
overlook his nearly-continuous recommendations to use diazinon on
everything)
"Botany for Gardeners" by Brian Capon
Dictionary of Plant Names" by Allen Coombes
"The Seed-Starter's Handbook"-- author? (can't remember)
