I second Nan's suggestion of visiting Quail Gardens and Buena Creek Nursery.
Quail has a wonderful bamboo planting that we colder zone gardeners can only
drool over. The plants are spectacular.
And at Buena Creek, do be sure to get someone to point out where all the
display gardens are. Very interesting. And leave room in your suitcase to
tuck in the plants you will not be able to help buying there. Take a few
plastic bags and you can unpot them and pack them bare root.
