Re: World's Largest Flower
Hello Chris,
There is an Aroid-L to join if one is into this section of the Arum
family. The Arisaema (Jack in the Pulpit) split off from the Aroid bunch to
form Arisaema-L. Some of these may stink when in bloom, others are quite
strange looking when in bloom but all are quite fascinating... and some of
the Arisaema are quite lovely and colorful in bloom.
Check out the stems and foliage on some of these Arum members. One I
have in the garden has stems that are mottled and patterned like an upright
brown python snake skin. Another is pale green with darker green spots like
a frog. A few of the Arisaema are commonly called 'Cobra Lilies'. When in
bloom the hood or spathe resembles a cobra drawn back to strike.
Been slowly collecting these oddities and lovelies for some years now.
