Re: asclepias speciosa
Pat, i just had an amazing experience propagating asclepia, I don't know
which species, but it looked much like my speciosa only with all-yellow
flowers. Anyway, I dipped cuttings in dip n grow and then put them into
perlite/vermiculite 50/50. Stuck them into my poor excuse for a mist table
(salvaged kids game table with an old skylight to cover and I mist them
every few days when I remember). Anyway, I started several dozen kinds of
cuttings at the same tim a few months ago. I potted up this weekend, and
the asclepias had roots that were 12" long! Nothing else had so much root
and in fact some cuttings that had put on top growth still had no root
growth (can anyone explain that one to me?). So go ahead and try it,
from my experience, I'd bet that you don't even need any hormone.
