Take heart.  By this time of year most trees have already produced enough 
energy to see them through the winter if they drop their leaves early.   If 
your trees are newly planted, or if they were under stress already, then the 
drought could kill them.  If your trees are established, they will probably 
be fine.  Trees have remarkable survival ability.  --Janis
