There IS a difference in water...I think. When I water from our well,
things do OK, but when I water from the creek that runs through my yard (my
usual source for irrigation), everything seems to look more healthy. The
downside is that the creekwater brings lots of weed seeds. Some years, the
creek dries up and I have to water from the well, which means I can't water
any more than it takes to keep things alive, because of some problems with
our well set-up. Other years (like this one), the creek was really low
after over a month and a half of no rain, but was rejuvinated when we
recieved nearly 1" during the past two weeks from thunderstorms.
My garden is a zone 3-4, and I'd be happy to share some transplants in the
Spring with you folks who've lost plants to the drought. Please email me
privately at mmiller@nemomtel.net Most of my plants are pretty common, but
I do have lots and they very hardy.
