pests & japanese anemone

Hi all-
Just realized that some Japanese Anemones have been TOTALLY eaten by
bugs that look like boxelder bugs, except that they are all black, no
red.  Any ideas or solutions?  TIA

Barb (zone 6/7, southeastern PA)
	A customer goes into Garden Center to buy some anemones.
	Clerk:  "Sorry, our shipment of anemones didn't come.  
	But we do have some nice palm fronds that just arrived"

	Customer:  "with fronds like those, who needs anemones?"
