Re:Platycodon

I have a blue platycondon in bloom now and it has one stem, coming off
another strong stem that is pale yellow. On this pale yellow stem are some
leaves that are variegated, yellow and green. Would it be possible to
isolate this stem and cultivate it? If yes, how would one go about it. I
don't think the stem itself would live because of not having enough
chlorophyll but with the leaves that are variegated, would that be enough?
Anyone out there with more knowledge about isolating and propagating new
plants maybe would know the answer.
