There are a number of excellent university-based websites which provide
extensive landscape and garden information. One of the best is from The
University of Minnesota. This site explores design concepts, plant
selection, installation technique and maintenance, while concentrating
on landscape sustainability. "A landscape developed with sustainable
practices will improve the environment by conserving resources and
reducing chemical applications. A sustainable landscape will also
reduce
labor inputs, making it less expensive to implement and maintain."
