I would take divisions and pot them up now -- every gardener has in their garage a
collection of those one-, two- and five-gallon pots from nurseries -- so that a) the
plants have time to get used to their temporary life as pot-plants, and b) any real
estate salesperson or prospective buyer sees what's staying, avoiding confusion down
the line.

I did all that last year, moving into a "blank slate."  My plants spent most of June,
July and August in pots with no harm.  I got the new house in time to spend September
putting most of the plants into their new ground -- at least to tide them over for
the winter.   Didn't lose a thing.  Have spent this growing season moving everything
to permanent locations.  Not to mention all the new additions...
