Hello Barb,
The menace of indoor plants is sucking insects. Maybe you should give a more
complete description of those bugs. Small an white could be one of several
things.
Indoor plants can be treated with a systemic if you mark the container that
you have done so. Otherwise, if it is a beautiful plant you may have to set
aside an hour or two and clean each leaf and leaf axil with a small soft
sponge soaked in a pyrethrum spray such as Schultz (in most supermarkets).
Another option if you do not mind removing the plant from it's site is to
take it outdoors on a frost free day and spray it with stronger stuff as
malathion.
I have a great many indoor plants with spider mites being the pest I find the
most troublesome. Justs when the gardener has grown an great and wondrous
plant, along comes some plague to keep you humble.
