Re: late-season blooms

Don,
Congrats on the late blooming Corydalis lutea. Here in the Cincinnati area, all my repeat-blooming iris bloomed last month, as did one that is not a repeater. A dwarf iris has opened a new flower each week for the past four weeks--iris in December!  And Clematis 'Jackmanii' had a few November blooms--this particular plant fell over this summer, many fine stems broke, so we trimmed it off to about a foot high--it threw up new shoots immediately and I guess the season has been long enough to stimulate new bloom on those new shoots.

And yesterday I drove by an Office Max store that has a large planting of daylily 'Stella d'Oro' (or one similar) that is in full bloom again.  The stalks are short and the flowers are small compared to what they looked like in July, but they're definitely blooming.  It's been an amazing fall.
