Hi Anne and all,
Noticed you are from Chicago.. Did you enjoy that great weather today, must
have been 65 here in zone 5.... thought I was dreaming and not awake yet :)
In my walk around the yard today, I noticed that many plants are coming to
life again after the frosty weather a month or so ago. I have so many that
are sprouting and flowering this is *very* unusual for this time of year to
say the least. I am concerned that those plants will not have enough time
to 'go thru the cycle' and store enough energy for the real springtime. I
have iris up, hardy geraniums, hostas, coreopsis, and the list goes on. Even
have rose bushes with flowers and buds...looking like early June instead of
December :)
I can not remember a time like this....Santa and his reindeer are on the
front lawn nibbling on the flower beds in bloom... I am sure tomorrow I will
awake to a foot of snow and freezing weather. Anything I should do or not do
with this crazy, but enjoyable weather to protect my perennials?
Comments or suggestions?
