Hi Donna & everyone - this weather is fabulous. Could hardly force
myself back inside the house yesterday (I kept thinking of what's
coming). Another good one promised for today, with some rain, which we
need. We've cut down most of the perennials by now so not much bloom
here. C. lutea is still going! A couple of little dianthus have one or
two blooms, one iris put up another stalk but some critter nibbled it
down. The late aconitum had a very long season, still with blooms when
we trimmed it yesterday, also the calamintha nep. - they looked great
together. The hellebores are gorgeous with new foliage but no buds.
Some of the shrubs & vines look like they're thinking about budding, by
what can you do? After a good freeze, we'll mulch around here & there
and pray for a good snow cover for most of the winter. Just think, only
15 weeks 'til Spring - how lucky can you get!!
