RE: plant trek

I have done this with a few gardening groups from different areas. It is a
blast! Most times there are too many to fit in one vehicle. When the
Bloomington group was up here, we fill up the larger cars and caravanned
around following each other. The Peoria group took it one step farther and
rented a bus! Both times we toured some of my friends private homes as well
as every water plant nursery worth stopping into. Of course, Us Northerners
also toured their towns as well.. It has been going on for three years, and
is going to continue this spring / summer.

I think this group should plan something like that, since there seems to be
quite a few in the area. If coming North, feel free to stop in here, I am
about 40 miles south of Chicago, coffee's always on, and it is a good place
to stretch your legs before the shop till you drop... If no one is familiar
with the Chicago area, be glad to show you around, or just tag along.. any
excuse to go plant shopping ;). If you all decide to head south and down to
Gene's place- let me know. Always wanted to go there, but didn't feel that
it was right for Gene to waste his whole day showing just me around...
