Thank you for all the comments about Helenium. I really wish I had space
for a "holding bed" so I could see what they look like. Unfortunately, the
townehouse management limits our gardening space to the point this is not
possible.
Based on your comments, I do believe I will purchase some named cultivars
from Roots and Rhizomes
(http://www.rootsrhizomes.com/cascade.cfm?cat=Perennials&sub1=Helenium&sub2=
X&sub3=X&var=X) and put in a row from seed. I can always pull them out the
next year if I don't like the colors.
