Bill,
I don't have any special information apart from compulsive reading of book
reviews. It seems to me that Dr. Stearn died prior to completing the
manuscript but there was a collaborator who finished it.
I don't buy directly from Timber Press, their books are discounted elsewhere.
There are price comparison sites which offer lower costs figured with the
now all important shipping. They do not seem to offer good information to
individual buyers although Timber often has the book you want. Powell on the
West Coast will have a Timber Press sale once a year and throw in the
shipping. I can't remember which month but there is a newsletter you can
have to alert you.
The Stearn books on Latinate form, several versions, are on used book sites
quite often. ABE is the largest site. Powell, again, also deals in used
books and also again has a garden book sale once a year which is a good time
to get your list at very fair prices. Alas, the cost of books is becoming so
high the buyer is now limiting choices and waiting for discounts. To all
book lovers, when there is a bargain to be found, we should pass it on.
