Holding Beds

A long time ago I made raised beds for my veggies.  Four beds 5 ft wide, 10 
ft long and 10 inches high.  Lotsa compost etc. Wonderful growth;  could turn 
it over with one hand, no fork needed.  Seems that one year cuttings went 
into one bed and did very well.  Seems I didn't need 20 tomatoe plants; wife 
and I as kids married and moved out.  All of a sudden two of four beds were 
cuttings.
That was then and this is now.  We retired and moved to the 
farm...........this summer I made four raised beds for cuttings etc.  This 
time 4 x 8x 10".   two are completely filled with woodies, perennials and 
this is just the beginning........... now if the mice  and/or voles don't get 
them.......
a sample, from seed= Camelia Japonica, Aesulus pavia, 4 different Hydrangeas, 
Hellebore x hybridus, etc, etc, etc (  got the etc thing from The King and I 
).
Cuttings= Cornus alba 'Elegantissima, several Azaleas, Lonicera 'Baggessens 
Gold' , Salix 'Haku Nishiki', Itea 'Hummingbird, etc, etc, etc,
Just getting started..........Oh did I mention the perennials?  
And you folks are my education.......imagine.
Walter in Bucks County,Pa where yesterday a buck and six/seven doe crossed my 
field mid day , no doubt running from a hunter.  Pretty sight as long as 
they're running.
