Re: Tools

Hi Guys,

My favorite gardening tool of all time is my electric chainsaw. With
arthritic joints, especially in my hands, it became difficult if not
impossible for me to limb up trees and shrubs, cut out big tree roots or
divide clumps of many plants. I finally broke down and bought me a
little electric chainsaw for $59 and it has more than paid for itself.
That and a couple of hundred feet of extension cord and there isn't much
I can do.

I also use it to trim or shorten cedar posts, 2x4's, landscape timbers,
etc. It's so easy not to carve a notch in a cedar post when building
arbors or fences.

My DH was freaked when I first got it, scared I was going to cut off a
leg or something but now uses it himself. (Or that I wouldn't need him
anymore, LOL.) Guess he's tired of lugging around the 16" and 20"
chainsaws which weigh a ton. I could never lift them long enough to use
for any length of time but the electric one is very light.

I live in pure sand so can dig with bare hands if necessary but can't
divide a clump of asparagus fern without my chainsaw!

Happy Gardening!
