Almost everyone that has contributed to this thread has had bad
experiences leaving a garden for another owner, so I have to relate my
little story:
we rented our house when we moved, to people who wanted to live there in
part because of the garden; by the way this was a house on about 1/2 an
acre, and 1/2 of that was a wooded hill, so there wasn't much room for
gardening; but over 20 years we managed to make the place full of plants
and bushes, and it looked good;
then those people subleased to another person, who again loved the
garden, and she eventually bought the place; all the renters attended an
ashram (place of learning yoga) that is in the town, and they all
brought flowers from the garden to the guru (the main teacher), and she
loved them too.
I haven't gone back there for a while, so don't know if they're keeping
the garden up any more, though.
