I may have to get Gardeners World now cause ya'll like it. A while ago, I
followed the threads saying how good the new mag The Gardener was, so I
ordered it; then ya'll said The American Gardener was good so I ordered it.
I agree with both recommendations. The problem is I was going to cancel
Horticulture and then Fine Gardening. I didn't, I can't, I'm simply not one
to make major decisions like cancelling a mag I've gotten for years. Now,
well here we go again.
It's okay for the winter months but when spring arrives, what will I do ?
Garden or read?
Maybe New years resolutions has something to do with it, but then I'm getting
ahead of myself here.
Ruth Stouts book, No-Work Garden Book was acqired a few years ago. I had read
about her many years ago in Horticulture mag, i believe. Anyway in our new
digs here I had two years of a losing battle with weeds in the veggie garden.
So I finally read the book followed its premise and "Voila" in the worse
drought I never watered and had No weeds and great tomatoes. Methinks it's
my religion now. Also, I see Lee Reich writing the same stuff now. Renewal
of the year round mulch, no rototilling method is making the rounds again.
try it; you might like it.
