Cheryl, I think this makes a great new thread--What would the ideal new
gardening magazine cover?
Personally, I think it would need to balance regional coverage--I don't think
there's much money to be made with a regional gardening magazine for the
advanced gardener.
I'd like to see some personality articles, many genera articles with some
depth, info about current research project/preliminary results such as the
trials done at Chicago Botanic. Now should it cover perennials, natives,
trees, shrubs, the whole nine yards? How should it be broad enough to build a
good subscriber base yet narrow enough to interest everybody? I think I'm
beginning to see why the ideal magazine doesn't exist.
