That's it, Diane! Ruellia makoyana. Trailing Velvet Plant or Monkey
Plant. Thank you so much. One picture is worth a thousand words, plus now
I can look up culture notes. I'm one of those who hates having a plant for
which I don't know the exact name. The photo you sent also explains why
the outer stems of my (so far) small plant keep tending to flop. :-) I'm
going to need to put it into a different type of container.
Well, you made my day. And for anyone interested, I just found this great
photo detail of the leaves of this pretty plant:

On the lower right leaf you can easily see the fine green lines inside the
white veining.
