Hi John...funny you should mention Royal Roads...we were just there on
Wednesday, on our way home from visiting Victoria...we got a chance to see
the inside of Dunsmuir Castle and see the grounds. Although not the best
time of year to visit, we did manage to see one pink poppy in bloom!! This
will indeed have to be seen again. I can just imagine what the grounds
look like when in bloom...that clematis in the Italian gardens looks mighty
impressive!!
For anyone interested, this is a beautiful place and situated on property
looking out onto Esquimalt Lagoon, is free to the public, and features
Italian, Japanese and the 18th century English natural garden of the lower
lakes area..
Another wonderful Canadian gem on Vancouver Island..
