There are several excellent web pages on bulbs and other geophytes
(http://agweb.clemson.edu/Hort/sctop/Geophyte/webpage.htm), but the only
lists that I know of exclusively devoted to bulbs are the ADS Daffodil list
and the NALS Lilium list (both are open to non-members) and the Trillium
list. Alpine-L has regular posts on many unusual bulbs (both species and
hybrid) and of course Iris-L covers all Iris.
For REALLY unusual bulbs the International Bulb Society are the ones to
talk to ... they have a webpage but do not sponsor an email list (to my
knowledge). Many unusual bulb seeds are listed in the North Americal Rock
Garden Society annual seed list as well as other Alpine seedlists and the
IBS. For actual bulbs: First choice would be Daffodil Mart (US) then Van
Bourgundien (US) for the more common stuff. Nancy R. Wilson (US) for the
unusual Narcissus and relatives, Salmon (UK - mail only) for other unusual
things. Paul Christian (UK - http://rareplants.co.uk e-mail:
paul@rareplants.co.uk) would be a good source also, though his interests
are more general. If you are interested in more tender bulbs such as
crinum, you might try Platation Bulb (Tyty Georgia). For the REALLY
unusual, it's seeds form one of the seed exchanges.
If you have something specific that you are looking for, post it's name to
the list or me directly. We might be able to help.
