How about a large cardboard box, the size that big TV's come in. You could
make it a project to do with your grandkids, cutting out doors and windows.
When they go home, recycle that box and find a new one for the next visit.
You could make it a tradition and try to make each visit's play house a
different theme or a different color or whatever to keep the kids looking
forward to creating the next playhouse rather than their bemoaning the loss
of that visit's creation.
