Re: bare root


I am not sure exactly what you mean by "bare root plants". Woody plants 
once they go dormant can be shipped and planted with great success. If 
you are referring to perennial plants I would try to discourage you since 
they just do not seem to take off as well as those purchased potted. At 
least that has been our experience over the years.  Of course if there is 
a secondary reason for seeking bare root plants such as cost, shipping 
regulations, or state/federal requirements this is another story all 
together.

We usually figure bare root perennial will mature approximately 3-4 
months behind a potted perennial. For us this is significant.
